Passengers on Brittany Ferries Portsmouth to St Malo voyages are being urged to pack their dancing shoes this summer. That’s because toe-tapping entertainment is back on Bretagne, the first time the ship has hosted a live show since 2019.

Two brand-new productions, called Cinémagique and The Great Expedition, will take place over the holiday season, covering Friday 22 July to Wednesday 31 August 2022. One will have passengers dancing in the aisles en-route to France, the other on their return leg to the UK.

Each show lasts 45 minutes and features a cast of four Live Business entertainers. Show previews took place last night, Thursday 21 July.

“We cannot wait for passengers to be wowed by these fantastic new shows on board,” said Leonie Cluett, entertainment manager Brittany Ferries. “Live entertainment was one of the casualties of the Covid crisis, but now we are back with a bang. Brittany Ferries Bretagne will be alive with song and the ship will be rocking once more.”

As Bretagne heads to St Malo, the curtain will rise on Cinémagique. Classic movie masterpieces will be brought to life, such as Dirty Dancing and Mamma Mia, alongside legendary musical medleys like We Will Rock You and Rocket Man. The show is designed to appeal to all ages and all musical tastes.

On the way home to Portsmouth, it will be best foot forward for The Great Expedition. Taking passengers on a journey from ice-capped mountains to jungles and even ‘under the sea’, the show pays homage to animated movie classics.

“It’s your last chance to say a big, holiday Hakuna Matata before arriving back in the UK,” added Leonie Cluett.
