Poole to France in six hours: Brittany Ferries opens 2027 high-speed bookings

Brittany Ferries is taking bookings for high-speed travel from Poole to Guernsey and St Malo, up to 7th November 2027, following publication of its 2027 timetable from November this year.
The timetable closely mirrors 2026, with departures from Poole to Guernsey up to six days a week aboard Voyager, the fastest ship in the Brittany Ferries fleet, capable of speeds of up to 42 knots (48mph).
The high-speed link continues to St Malo, putting Brittany within easy reach of Poole in just six hours door-to-door at sea.
Brittany Ferries says the consistent timings, in place for a third season, are designed to give customers the confidence to plan, whether for a short break or a longer holiday.
Two destinations, one fast crossing from Poole
Voyager‘s route from Poole means customers can choose between two very different escapes without the longer drive to another Channel port. Sailings depart Poole in the afternoon, reaching Guernsey in three hours, with the service continuing to St Malo in a total of six hours from Poole.
Destination Guernsey
Known for its natural beauty, rich heritage and delicious food, Guernsey is an archipelago sitting just off the Normandy coast. With rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, turquoise waters and bursts of wildflowers, the islands are made for outdoor adventure, whether walking the Guernsey Coastal Path, kayaking or simply relaxing on the sands of Cobo Bay.
History runs deep here too, from prehistoric sites like La Varde and Dehus Dolmen to wartime bunkers and Occupation Trails, while the harbour capital of St Peter Port and neighbouring towns offer gardens, galleries and local restaurants serving fresh seafood and Guernsey’s famous gâche.
Destination St Malo
A jewel in Brittany’s crown, St Malo is a walled port and charming resort on the Emerald Coast. Its winding cobbled streets and ancient stone ramparts overlook golden sand beaches, islets and smart marinas. St Malo oozes history from every cobble, and wherever you step, you can feel the town’s swashbuckling corsair past.
From St Malo it’s a short drive to Brittany’s famed Pink Granite Coast, with its sloping beaches of white-gold sand, secluded coves and caves, cliff walks and stylish hotels. The English Channel’s southernmost ferry port, St Malo’s excellent road connections make it the perfect route for holidays in Brittany, the Loire Valley, the Dordogne and southwest France. It’s also the shortest drive from the Channel to Spain.
Voyager: fast, comfortable travel
Voyager is a sleek, high-speed catamaran capable of speeds of up to 42 knots (48mph), making the crossing from Poole to Guernsey in around three hours and continuing to St Malo in six hours in total. On board, there’s space to relax and the freedom to walk around, with comfortable seating, bars, a café and a small boutique, offering travellers the choice to journey in style, but quickly too.

Brittany Ferries was conceived in 1972, starting life as a freight-only ferry-service on 2nd January the following year. The first vessel (Kerisnel) linked Roscoff in Brittany with Plymouth on the southwest coast of England and carried a cargo of cauliflowers and cognac.
