Repsol’s second LNG bunker terminal in Santander opens to fuel Brittany Ferries’ Santoña

Energy company Repsol has today inaugurated its second liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply terminal. The inauguration in Santander Spain was attended by Repsol’s Executive Managing Director of Circular Economy and Industrial Transformation, Juan Abascal and Brittany Ferries’ CEO Christophe Mathieu.

Brittany Ferries reports encouraging passenger volumes, but freight slump worsens

As the summer season approaches, Brittany Ferries says passenger numbers are rising slowly towards pre-Covid levels. However, the slump in freight volumes that came post Brexit has continued and has even started to worsen this year.

The fastest ferry on the Channel is back

Today Friday 26th May, fast cross-Channel ferry sailings return to the Western Channel. The weekend summer service operated by the Condor Liberation fastcraft departed Portsmouth at 07:00 this morning, arriving at Cherbourg (Normandy) at 11:00. The return sailing departed Cherbourg at 11:50 and arrived at Poole at 13:35.

Brittany Ferries has today announced the name of its forthcoming hybrid ship, which will sail between Portsmouth and Caen. Guillaume de Normandie will be the joint-largest hybrid vessel at sea when she joins the Brittany Ferries fleet in May 2025, sailing alongside sister-ship Saint-Malo.

More Owners Opt to bring their Pets on Holiday. Brittany Ferries has revealed that 75,000 pets accompanied their owners travelling on their routes in 2022, an increase of almost 40,000 (114%) on the number of pets who travelled overseas with the company in 2021.
